Paryse Beatty was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, and began her career in interior design after graduating from the New Brunswick Community College in Dieppe in 2007. She worked with an architectural firm in Moncton, where she gained broad experience across educational, institutional, recreational, commercial, and healthcare projects. As a registered Interior Designer, Paryse was involved throughout all phases of project delivery, from schematic design and construction documentation to contract administration, as well as the selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.

In 2016, Paryse moved to Halifax to pursue architecture at Dalhousie University, earning a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies in 2018 and a Master of Architecture in 2020.

Following her graduate studies, Paryse joined MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects through the Ghost Apprenticeship which is rooted in the master-builder tradition. Based in Shobac, Nova Scotia, the experience immersed her in the landscape and rhythms of the farm while providing an opportunity to study the region’s culture, climate, materials, and building traditions within the practice’s architectural laboratory.

Her background in interior design and architecture informs a holistic approach to design, connecting materiality, craft, context, and the experience of space.
