MArch, BEDS, BSc, LEED AP, NSAA

Tyler comes to us from the prairies, born and raised in central Alberta. After previous experience in engineering and construction, Tyler moved east to further his education where he obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies (2014) and a Masters in Architecture (2016) from Dalhousie University. After joining MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple post graduation, he has emerged as part of the firm’s leadership being named a senior associate in 2021. His work stretches across a variety of scales, from houses, hospitality, public recreational facilities, and large-scale institutional projects. Since joining the firm Tyler has contributed to several award-winning projects, including the Enough House and Burge Residence. Tyler has an interest in the vernacular response of architecture to the Canadian landscape, and the diversity of material building cultures.
